Ajinkya Rahane’s 98 of 66 balls took Rajasthan Royals to a 31 run comfortable victory against the Kings XI Punjab. Adam Gilchrist won the toss and decided to field first. It was the one man batting show from Rahane from the RR. He scored briskly with a terrific strike rate of 148.88 without playing any slam bang shots. All of his shots were classy ones, an indeed a treat to eyes for cricket lovers. His inning helped RR to get a huge total of 191. In reply, Punjab was able to score only 160 for 9 wickets in 20 overs. Although the skipper Gilchrist played well for his 27 runs but once he got out, wicket were lost at regular intervals and then it was never an easy task for KXIP. K Cooper from West Indies was very impressive with both bat and ball. He took 4 wickets for RR. A perfect start for skipper Rahul Dravid in this tournament.
